Having good health is the most important thing in our lives. Below we feature some articles and tips on how to improve your health. And don’t forget, being beautiful starts from within. The more you look after your health, the more you increase your chances of staying beautiful for longer.

Diet for Health

At Bingo Weekly we believe in healthy nutrition, and have done some research to recommend the best diet for all around health.

When we say diet, we don’t mean those punishing deprivation periods where people half-starve themselves and then wonder why they can’t stick to it! What we mean is a balanced way of looking at food, which at its most basic function is fuel for our bodies.

If you are active on a regular basis – by this we mean at least 30 minutes of activity a day, your body needs its most fundamental source of fuel…carbohydrates. These include grains like rice, pasta such as spaghetti and bread. Without a sufficient supply of carbohydrates, the body runs down in energy, leaving you feeling tired and weak. You can also feel tired and weak if you’re not drinking enough fluids, so make sure you fit in those 8 glasses of water a day.

The diagram from the Mayo Clinic below illustrates the healthiest balance of possible foods.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “your nutritional needs differ at different stages of life, and they may change if you have a chronic disease. Everyone has unique genetic tendencies toward certain diseases, so food components such as salt or fats pose different risks for different people. Food intolerances and allergies also affect what kind of food you eat. In addition, such factors as your culture, family background, religious and moral beliefs, and the cost and the availability of food can all affect your food choices. People like different foods and prepare similar foods in different ways”.

Nonetheless, by using the best combination of self-discipline, moderation and the occasional indulgence, your body will thank you with the best reward – health!
